The World Around Young Climate Prize application period is currently open for 2022. The award was created to help the generation that was born into the climate catastrophe and also to provide 25 of the most brilliant and committed climate designers under the age of 25 visibility, encouragement, and mentorship.
They are seeking young people who are engaged in independently initiated projects that address, raise awareness of, or attempt to mitigate climate change in their local area. The selected candidates will enroll in a special academy where they will each receive mentoring from a distinguished Design Champion, one of the world’s top designers, museum directors, curators, writers, and also corporate executives who are concerned about climate change.
Beatrice Galilee and Diego Marroquin established the international nonprofit platform The World Around in 2020 with the goal of making the most innovative architectural concepts available to everyone. The World Around has worked with international organizations like the United Nations, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Dezeen, and the Het Nieuwe Instituut to develop distinctive and widely praised public programming. The World Around views the climate crisis, the most important issue of our time, as the lens through which to view all of its activities.
