RES4Africa Academy Young Talent of the Year Award
RES4Africa Foundation is a strong advocate of the youth’s role in Africa’s energy transition: the continent’s young generations can offer groundbreaking solutions to the issues currently affecting the African energy and environmental sector, creating an unprecedented impact in terms of innovation, climate resilience and social change.

At its Fourth edition, the initiative aims to support brilliant young African talents from the RES4Africa’s Academy Technical and Vocational School (Former Micro-Grid Academy) alumni community. Applicants are required to submit innovative and groundbreaking ideas, ongoing experiences and projects; the three most innovative ones will be awarded with financial support and promoted in visibility by the RES4Africa Academy.
Participation in the Young Talent of the Year 2023 Award is open to all young African innovators who fully meet the following criteria:
- Between 18 and 33 years old;
- African nationality;
- Owners or representatives of the innovative idea(s) in her/his community in the REs sector in Africa;
- Be an individual, a start-up or a group of people represented by a team leader;
- Good knowledge of English.
The application procedure:
The applicants must fully complete the Online Standard Application form, followed by an email informing the completion of the application with evidence or an example of the proposed project to [email protected].
Interested participants must refer to the complete information pack, to complete and submit the registration form by the 4th of June 2023.
The selection committee will select 3 award winners, who will each receive €5,000 each, and have access to mentorship with experts in the renewable energy field.
Furthermore, the Winners will be invited to major Conferences and Forums to present their projects to professionals and high-level organisations in the field.
