Applications are now open for the 2025/2026 Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship. Application is invited from interested and qualified Nigerians to participate in the 2025/2026 Federal Government Scholarship Awards for: 

BILATERAL EDUCATION AGREEMENT (BEA) 

i) Undergraduate (UG) studies tenable in Russia, Morocco, Hungary, Egypt and Algeria; 

ii) Postgraduate (PG) studies tenable in Russia (for those whose first degrees were obtained from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, Romania.

FIELDS OF STUDY 

a. Undergraduate level – Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (very limited), Pilot Engineering, Neurologist and 

b. Postgraduate level (Masters Degree and PhD) in all fields. 

Eligibility Requirements

A. UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS:

  • All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of Seven (7) Distinctions (As & Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) only in the subjects relevant to their fields of study including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Certificates should not be more than two (2) years old (2023 & 2024) for non-African countries and African countries the age of the certificate is one year (2024) only. 
  • The age limit is from 17 to 20 years. 

B. POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS:

  • All applicants for Postgraduate degree courses must hold a First Degree with 1st Class or at least 2nd Class Upper Division. 
  • All applicants must have completed their N.Y.S.C. Programme and the age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D. 
  • N.Y.S.C discharge or exemption certificates only are accepted; and 
  • Evidence of readiness to be released by an employer. 

Application Procedure:

  • Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one-year foreign Language course of the Country of choice which will be the standard medium of instruction; 
  • All applicants for the Hungarian Scholarship can apply for up to two fields of study in order of preference and must visit the website: www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu which was opened in the Middle of November and would close on 15th January 2025. Complete the application form online; 
  • All applicants for Russia should visit the website http://education-in-russia.com which is open; 
  • All applicants for Russian Postgraduate Scholarship must have acquired their 1st Degree in Russia; 
  • All documents to be uploaded on the Russian Application portal and must be properly scanned in PDF format; 
  • All prospective candidates for Russian MUST have an international passport and original WAEC certificate before applying and for those with 2024 WAEC you are advised to download a digital copy of your WAEC certificate from the WAEC portal and upload it to the Russian portal; 

All Applicants are to upload the following certificates online; 

a. UNDERGRADUATE (UG): WAEC/WASSCE & NIN Slip

b. POSTGRADUATE (PG): 1st Degree Certificate, NIN Slip 

& NYSC discharge or exemption Certificate. 

NB: Candidates nominated by the Board will be required to submit to the Federal Scholarship Board the following: 

  1. Authenticated copies of academic certificates; 
  2. Data page of the current International passport; 
  3. Specified Medical Reports from Government hospitals; 
  4. Birth Certificate & Indigene letter 
  5. Police Clearance Certificate where necessary.
