The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) is an intergovernmental financial institution established within the framework of the United Nations. The CFC finances commodity development projects in developing states, aiming to alleviate poverty and create sustainable livelihoods. The Fund supports projects that transform commodity value chains and uplift smallholder and SME-based enterprises in CFC member countries.
Program Benefits
The CFC funds agribusinesses with loans and other debt instruments.
The maximum amount is USD 2 million for regular projects, and up to USD
300,000 under the Fast-Track procedure
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) 2025, your business must meet the following criteria:
- Be a small or medium enterprise (SME) or a woman-led enterprise based in a CFC member country.
- Propose a project that aims to transform commodity value chains and uplift smallholder and SME-based enterprises.
- Demonstrate the operational and financial viability of your project, ensuring that it is economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable.
- Show tangible, sustainable impacts on the lives of low-income populations who depend on commodities.
Application Process
The application process for the Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) 2025 involves several steps:
- Submit Application: Complete the application form on the CFC website by April 1, 2025.
- Provide Required Documents: Include your project proposal, budget plan, and examples of previous work that highlight your business’s impact and expertise.
- Review and Selection: Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee, which will assess the potential impact, feasibility, and alignment with the CFC’s objectives.
- Announcement of Successful Applicants: Selected projects will be notified by May 30, 2025, and funding will be disbursed shortly thereafter.
